Privacy

This site is deliberately boring in privacy terms, and this page describes what actually happens rather than what a template would say.

No cookies

We set no cookies and store nothing on your device. There is no login, no account, no newsletter, no contact form and no comment section. Nothing you do here is written to your browser's storage.

This is also why you will not see a consent banner. Consent is required for storing or reading information on your device — and there is nothing here to consent to.

What our server sees

Like any web server, ours records the technical details of a request: the page you asked for, the time, your browser's user agent, and the country your request came from. We use this to tell real visitors apart from automated crawlers, which make up a large share of traffic to sites like this one. We do not store your IP address in readable form and we do not build a profile of you.

When you click through to Amazon

Buy links pass through our own /go address, which records which product was clicked and from which page, and then forwards you to Amazon. That record contains no information about you personally.

Once you land on Amazon, you are on Amazon's site under Amazon's privacy policy. They will recognise that you arrived through us — that is how the affiliate programme works — and what they collect from that point on is between you and them.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare's network. Serving a page necessarily means Cloudflare processes the request, including your IP address, in order to deliver it and to protect against attacks.

Changes

If any of the above stops being true, this page changes first. It describes the site as it is built, not as we would like it to appear.
